Transfers!

Hello family! Biggest item of news: transfers!!

Sister Jensen and I are staying here in Poznań together for another transfer! I'm super pumped. Just so you all know, Sister Jensen is fantastic and I have learned so much from her, so I am excited to be with her for another 9 weeks :)
Our elders are leaving us for Zgorzelec, because Elder Uchtdorf told President Chandler to have missionaries there and they finally found an apartment. So we are going to be an only sisters city again! It will be a party, but also kind of stressful, so prayers would be appreciated. I feel very strongly that there are some very specific things God wants me and Sister Jensen to accomplish during this next transfer, and so I am really looking forward to it!

This week went by pretty fast. We spent a good chunk of Tuesday deep cleaning our apartment because President Chandler told everyone to do that.

Thursday we taught our intermediate English class and had a lot of fun. We had all new people that day, and somehow our class turned into a long discussion about people who have helped others even when they themselves were suffering. It got pretty deep too, which was cool. We also made hand turkeys (where you trace your hand and turn it into a turkey) because I wanted to. Our class members thought that was pretty funny.

On Saturday we had a Thanksgiving Party planned for our branch and for some of the young adults from other cities. We invited a lot of people to it and they all came! We probably had 35 people there, which filled our chapel completely up. Ah, it just warms my heart to see our chapel full of people and see the members talking to everyone and making friends. That party was the highlight of the week for sure. It is now going to be easier to help all these people come to church!

Have a fantastic week! I love the Christmas season, but for some people it can be an especially lonely part of the year because they feel that they should be having a wonderful time with their family, but they are either far away from family or don't have a good family situation. Or they are suffering from depression or another mental illness. So look out for these people. Be their friends. And as you help them focus on Christ, their pain will be eased. This scripture from Isaiah about Christ is one of my all time favorites: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

One of the best things we can do help other people this Christmas is to help them feel the power Jesus Christ has to heal their loneliness, their pains, and forgive their sins. Christ's power to save us and help us is real.

Love,
Sister Eberting

1-5. We went to the Palmiarnia again. It has plants very reminiscent of a Dr. Suess book.
6. Me with sweet potatoes. They were a hit at our party. Even Sister Womack liked them, and she doesn't like sweet potatoes. Thanks for the recipe, Mom!
