Hello fam!
So much has happened this week. It is difficult for me to even start. So maybe I'll just kind of mind vomit into this email. You're welcome :)
On Tuesday we drove to Warsaw with the Womacks for Zone Conference. The Chandlers planned a wonderful day for us missionaries in their home. We got to sing Christmas Carols together, we went to see Christmas lights, and we talked about how this Christmas isn't going to be like Christmases at home, but it will be a truly unique and good experience, because we will be focused on others. It just felt so good and peaceful to be there.
On Wednesday we got to have a meeting with one of our friends who is interested. We really tried to prepare with the Holy Ghost and listen during the meeting, and it was AWESOME. She had a few difficult questions she'd been pondering for many years, and as we read the Book of Mormon with her, we searched for answers.
One of the verses spoke to her and answered one of her questions. She was shocked and so surprised that her question was so simply answered. So we talked about how the Book of Mormon can help us find answers to our questions. It was a real breakthrough meeting.
On our way to English on Thursday, we were in the tram, and I talked to a lady with a few children wearing really cool hats. She was a really awesome lady and we had a really good conversation and at the end, how easy would it have been to give her a card about the church from my pocket? So easy. But I didn't do it.
Kind of beating myself up for that, I prayed an apology prayer and asked for another chance.
So we did our English class and started heading back home. When we got off the tram, we looked behind us and noticed a few little hats bobbing up and down.
IT WAS THE SAME FAMILY! And long story short, we are now going to teach the kids English and we have birthday cake. Really this family is wonderful. They also invited us over to spend Christmas Eve with them.
But lesson learned from this: God works through imperfect people.
I also talked to another lady on a tram whom we had met before at the grocery store. She had asked us originally about the different types of dog food, but I didn't really know how to help because I don't have a dog. When I saw her again waiting at a tram stop with us, we just picked up our conversation right where we had left off. Wet vs. Dry dog food seems to be the topic of discussion these days.
Hope you all have a fabulous Christmas! I'm so grateful that I get to be a missionary and talk to people about Jesus Christ every day! Here is one of my favorite verses that prophesies about Christ's birth :)
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Love,
