Baptism This Week
Hi family! This week has been wonderful! We have gotten to watch as the hearts of a few people we teach.
This week we got to watch the people we were teaching as their hearts soften. We have been teaching a man from Morocco for a while, and the last few lessons we have had with hin have been particularly spirit-filled. He came to institute through Zoom last Thursday and was answering all the questions. He has come a long way and has experienced a lot of opposition, he was close to even dropping us a couple months ago. His roommates have had their parents drive from hours away just so they can talk to him and convince him to have nothing to do with us. He also has experienced a lot of pressure from his friends to lower his standards. However he recognizes that doing so would lead to unhappiness in the long run. He has recently really been looking for people who share his standards, and so when he came to institute through zoom on Thursday, that was a miracle. And he was just answering all the questions, he was on FIRE! He messaged us in the middle "I'm stressed out am I doing okay??" And we were like "yeah you are killing it!!" I'm really grateful we have technology, which enables us to meet with him and helps others connect with him as well. He is on a good path and can see that the gospel really does bring more happiness and light.
We are having the baptism this Wednesday! Marzena and Tomek and Asia are coming to a river right by our house and we will have the service in the evening. I'm so excited Sister Lueck and I get to see them make promises with God before we go home.
Yesterday we wanted to take the sacrament, and Łukasz, who recently moved in from Bydgoszcz and is such a great guy, offered to give us the sacrament. However the zone leaders said we couldn't be alone with him in the chapel, so we were messaging and calling people to see if they would be willing to come, but no one was. So we prayed that someone would come and then called Łukasz and told him he couldn't come. Well we headed to the chapel, and a few minutes later we hear a knock on the chapel door. We open it and Brat Pawlek is standing there in a suit and everything. Brat Pawlek is one of the few members in the region who has a car
Brat Pawlek lives all the way in Legnica. We asked him why he came to the chapel on a Sunday morning when he could just watch Sunday school from his home through Zoom. He just kind of shrugged his shoulders. Well, Brat Pawlek was the answer to our prayers. We called Łukasz and told him to come over, and a few minutes later he was there watching Sunday School with us all. Afterwards he and Brat Pawlek blessed and gave us the sacrament. He followed the Spirit and drove to the Wrocław chapel on a Sunday morning to answer our prayers.
Happy Memorial Day! Love you all!
