Cześć, my family! It sounds like you had a wonderful Easter! I'm sorry I don't have a ton of time to email, but here are some highlights:
On Wednesday, we met with a guy named Wojtek, whom we had found the previous week while trying to contact a less active member. We're going back on Wednesday, so that's super exciting!
Easter is a huge 3-day holiday here. Sunday was kind of a downer, and I was having a kind of pity-party, but in the evening we went to visit a member in Zabrze, Anna, who has trouble getting around. We got to share a spiritual message with her and testify of Jesus Christ, and that brought the Spirit and peace.
Monday was wonderful! In the afternoon, we went to our friend Ola's grandparents. They are both so nice and cute and just everything a babcia and dziadek are supposed to be. Babcia made such a delicious obiad, and dziadek kept trying to get us to eat more food ("Jedzcie! Jedzcie!")
On Saturday, we went to a less active member in Sosnowiec. On the way, I started a conversation with a grandma, and she was so nice and cute! She told us excitedly about her daughter who lives by Seattle, and her eyes just lit up as she talked about them. And when she got up to leave at her tram stop, she gave us both kisses! It was so sweet!
On Monday, we also did a finding activity. And that is where my lil' spiritual thought comes from today. During the finding activity, I explained a little bit about our beliefs, and she told me that she doesn't care if I believe in the Spaghetti Monster if I think it helps me be a good person. Well, basically, she is missing the whole point and needs some serious humbling in her life (that was a small portion of the conversation), because the Gospel is not some fake belief we've made up. We worship the one true God, and we know Who we worship. What's more, God sent us to earth, and our purpose here is not just to be good people. Our purpose here is to be the best people possible, and that is only possible through the Gospel of Jesus Christ--through making covenants with God and relying on Christ's enabling power. Also, just read President Nelson's last Conference talk, because he can say it much better than I can.
Love you all!
Sister Eberting
