Wrocław

Cześć! It has been a wonderful first week here in Wrocław (say "V wrote suave")

First of all, I am now one of the missionaries in charge of making some of the Facebook posts for the official Church page, so that's kind of interesting. Also, Wrocław has a family history center with a ton of micro films, so lots of people come here to do family history. I'm excited to figure out how to help people. A dad and his daughter came to the center this week and found a ton of their ancestors that they previously had little or no knowledge about. So that was pretty exciting.

We are teaching people from so many different countries here! We have given (or will soon) Books of Mormon in Arabic, French, Hindi, and Tamil (in addition to English/Polish/Russian). It is super cool to meet people coming from so many different perspectives.

Sis Aramaki and I are working on learning Russian and French now. We have a French member here who is so sweet and she's been teaching us a few things.

The branch here is so cool! The branch president came up to me on Sunday and was so relieved to find out I play the piano cause Sis Carroll played but then she left.

On Saturday we had this super cool meeting with a guy Sister Aramaki had found through Facebook. He had been looking for someone he could talk to about faith. So we talked for a little bit and then we read from Joseph Smith History about how Joseph Smith didn't know which church to join. This guy reads the scriptures with power. And as we were reading, he just keeps stopping and saying "That is exactly what I keep feeling!" After we finished with him seeing the First Vision he said "You know, I thought we were going to connect more because we are in the same age group and everything, but thanks for introducing me to Joseph Smith!"
Such a cool guy.

I'm super excited to he here in Wrocław with Sis Aramaki (she is AWESOME!!!) and the people we are working with are super cool!

I got to give a talk yesterday in sacrament meeting about how we can avoid temptation. One of the verses I shared was 3 Nephi 15:9 "Behold, I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life." It is so comforting to know that no matter how difficult our trials are or how weak we feel, when we focus all our attention on Jesus Christ, we can have the assurance that we will live.
